THE AUTHOR

Irene Hawley grew up on the Manitoba prairies. She attended University of Manitoba where she met and married a Tobagonian doctoral student. They moved to Liverpool, England where they faced the challenges of mixed-race family. Emigrating to Trinidad some years later transformed her outlook and inspired her writing. She resides in Toronto, Canada.
